Cinedans Dioraphte Awards & dancescreen 2010

Cinedans was proud to host and coproduce the twelfth edition of dancescreen, founded by the IMZ – International Music + Media Centre (Vienna). Together Cinedans and dancescreen 2010 selected 65 films from more than 250 entries from 25 different countries for the festival and competition. We would like to thank dancescreen and its team for this fruitful cooperation! During the Closing Night the Chairman of the jury Jen McLachlan announced the winners of the Dioraphte Awards and the dancescreen 2010 at Cinedans Awards.

Dioraphte Awards

On the closing evening of the festival on December 12 the winners of the Dioraphte Cinedans Jury Award and the Dioraphte Encouragement Award where anounced.

Jury

Cis Bierinckx
Artistic director Beursschouwburg, Brussels
Before Cis Bierinckx became the artistic director of the art centre Beursschouwburg in Brussels, he has been working amongst others for the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Salzburger Festspiele in Austria and the Belluard-Bollwerk Festival in Ghent. He produced films with Ana Poliak, Harun Farocki and others and is very active as a curator in the field of art, film and video.

Arild Erikstad
Executive Producer, Cultural Department, NRK, Norway Born in Oslo, Arild Erikstad has been working for the NRK since 1982 in different positions. Starting as a producer for Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, he is now Executive Producer in the Cultural Department and responsible for NRK’s international music co-productions. Erikstad is also active as Vice President in the EBU Music Expert Group and for several years he has been Boardmember of the IMZ – International Music + Media Centre.

Luuk van Eijk
Founder Julidans and ex-curator Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam.
From 1977 to 2010 Luuk van Eijk was in charge of the Dance Programme at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and in addition to this position he has been the Director of the Julidans Festival since 1991. He introduced the public to the work of numerous renowned, national and international choreographers. Luuk van Eijk is fascinated by the fact that dance produces so many emotions without needing words.

Jen McLachlan
Producer, balletLORENT & Wayne McGregor | Random Dance Following ten years as a professional dancer, Jen McLachlan joined Arts Council England as lead officer for the development of dance and moving image. In 2006 she joined the Australia Council for the Arts as its Director of Dance. She now produces projects across Europe, primarily for Wayne McGregor|Random Dance.

Isabelle Mestre
Chargée de Programmes Spectacles, ARTE France
Isabelle Mestre has been working in the field of audiovisual media/ dance and theatre for several years. On the one hand for cinema and theatre productions and on the other hand as a manager of theatre and dance programmes for ARTE France. Being also active as an author, Isabelle Mestre published 2008 her first novel ‘L’arpenteuse’.
