‘Dancing in front of the camera’

is an art education project in which movement is the central theme. A choreography is created together with the students, based on actions which the students perform daily in their future professions such as carpenter, hairdresser, baker … The movements are recorded with various cameras and then edited into a dynamic dance film.
Prior to the start of the project the students are shown a number of short dance films. They then choose a few pieces of music which will support the images of the film. About 10 days after the recordings the dance film is presented in a festive way and the students each get a copy of the film to keep.

During Cinedans 2010 a special section for schools is included in the programme. All films will be watched and judged by a professional jury. The students and makers of the best dance film receive an award.

The ‘Dancing in front of the camera’ project is suitable for students from all first, second and third grades of the VMBO . This also goes for the Basis- and Kaderberoeps schools!

This project is NOMINATED for the FILM educatieprijs 2008!

This project was also made possible by Liesbeth Osse, Weijke Koopmans, Ronald de Boer en Jasmijn Cedée.
